Dear PSH Colleagues,

It is with great honor and deep responsibility that I assume the role of President of the Philippine Society of Hypertension (PSH) for the term 2025-2027. I am truly grateful for your trust and confidence in me, and I am eager to work with all of you to advance our shared mission.

Hypertension remains one of the most pressing health challenges in our country, contributing significantly to cardiovascular disease, stroke, chronic kidney disease and dementia. As we embark on this journey together, I reaffirm PSH's unwavering commitment to strengthening prevision, treatment, and better control of hypertension nationwide.

Our key priorities in this endeavor will be:

1. Strengthening Prevention Efforts - Promoting lifestyle interventions, raising awareness about risk factors, and encouraging early detection to prevent hypertension before it develops.

2. Enhancing Treatment Strategies - ensuring that healthcare professionals have access to the latest guidelines, innovations, and tools to provide optimal care for hypertensive patients.

3. Improving Hypertension Control - Advocating for better patient adherence to treatment empowering patients through correct home blood pressure monitoring, increasing access to essential medications, and working closely with policymakers to implement effective public health strategies.

Through collaboration with like-minded organization local and international, continued education for practitioners, and the promotion of research in hypertension management, we will drive meaningful progress in reducing the burden of this disease in the Philippines.
